Adopters must be over 21 and have evidence of this (birth certificate). There is no upper age limit but Families for Children Trust would use as a general guideline the principle that children should be placed with parents to whom they could have been born.

However, the application of each individual or couple will be considered on their merits with due regard to the current needs of children referred to Families for Children.
