What it's like to support us
Read one adoptive parent's experience of supporting Families for Children!
Our son's Playgroup very kindly agreed to take part in the 'Look after Teddy' event which we held in May. We raised £250 and had great fun in the process!
On the first day we made Teddy labels for each bear so no-one would be going home with the wrong one! During the week, the children learnt a lot with the help of their Teddies. Lots of different topics were covered including keeping Teddy safe, healthy foods for Teddy's tummy, how Teddy moves and how Teddy is feeling. On the last day we held a Teddy Bears' Picnic for which I made some Teddy shaped biscuits and found Teddy shaped crisps!
The Playgroup Leader commented on how well the information pack is put together and how informative and adaptable it is. We used all of the ideas and added some of our own. I was really pleased with the amount raised, especially as all the children had a good time and enjoyed themselves whilst taking part.
